Once
each year, Pepsi USA, the parent company for the soft drink giant, bestows the
Kendall Bottling Award for Excellence in Service and Efficiency to one outstanding
bottling division. The 2001 honor went to the Chicagoland Bottling Association.
RDR was called upon to produce a video tribute
of
the Chicago operation during an award presentation shown to Pepsi executives
in New York City. The success of that video led to a second program entitled
"The Power of One" highlighting Pepsi's successful effort to gain
a stronger presence in the urban market thru increased ethnic point of purchase
displays. It featured testimonials from ethnic merchants and Pepsi and Frito-Lay
account executives and clearly illustrated the two divisions efforts to increase
their in-store footprint. All this was edited together into a fast paced, MTV-like
presentation.
